Festivals revolving around food and wine are the best kind of festivals. That’s why we’re super excited to hear about the brand new two-day Yarra Valley Wine & Food Festival that will take place on the lawns of Rochford Winery over the weekend of April 1-2, 2017.
The Yarra Valley is known for it’s stunning views, fine wines, fresh produce and delicious food. A few names you may be familiar with: Yarra Valley Dairy, the company that started the Persian Feta craze, or the historical Yering Farm that produces delicious wine as well as their own unique Pink Lady Apple Syder. Maybe you have dined at Rochford Winery with their stunning menu that showcases the fresh food and produce the Yarra Valley has to offer, or maybe you have visited the recently opened Watts River Brewery that specialises in craft beer with character, aparently the brewers allocate a different personality type for each of their brews. What about Tarra Warra? A beautiful art museum with stunning architecture that sits adjacent to their underground cellar-door where you can enjoy a wine tasting or cellar tour.
These are just a few gems that the Yarra Valley has to offer, and the names listed above will also be at the festival amongst hundreds of vendors to ensure a day full of the best food and wine the Yarra Valley has to offer.
Event go-ers will get to sample wines from over 40 leading wineries and learn about vintage, climate and all the works first-hand. If wine is not your thing, a handful of local beer and cider producers will also be taking part in the festival. Over 50 proveedores, producers and food trucks will keep your tastebuds happy. Get artsy with the wine barrel art competition or just dance and enjoy the music and entertainment performed by Cheeky Jam and Lisa Edwards over the two days.
There’s wine, food, art and music, the only thing missing is you.
