The Meat and Wine Co, South Yarra is the fifth venue to open under the same brand. Currently with two sites in NSW, now three in VIC and another two opening soon in NSW and ACT. The Meat and Wine Co is sure making its brand known to the world and that it should.
Interior bordered with timber, dim lighting and accents of leather creates a cosy cabin atmosphere with a modern flare. We counted three levels of dining as well as three private rooms, one of which doubles as a wine cellar, showing off their array of wines from across the globe.
The menu is extensive enough to please all palates. They have North African prawns, Perri Perri scallops with pea puree, mac and cheese with manchego and chorizo crumbs, pork belly with kimchi, Szechuan calamari, risotto, burgers, Portuguese chicken, Moroccan lamb and other international flavours.
The main fare is in the name. Meat, meat, and, more meat. For something a little different, try the flame-grilled skewers served dangling on top a bed of chips or salad. Each meat selection is cooked with their own flavour and spices. There's salmon, beef, beef and prawn, chicken, lamb and even kangaroo. Now that's game.
If that doesn't impress you, then the steak menu certainly will. Ranging from $23 for a free range, 120-day pasture fed 200g rump to $69 for a 300g rib-eye Wagyu fed for 450 days achieving a marble score of 6+. Their exclusive line of 'Monte Beef' is sourced from premium breeders through a stringent process ensuring top quality.
For the brave and messy is the rib selection. Beef, pork, lamb ribs, and if those decisions are too hard then get all the ribs on a platter. Still got steak on the mind? Have 'the best of both' which includes a half rack with a 200g rump.
I could go on, but the crux of it is that this menu, is fail-proof. They even have a children's section on the menu ensuring they cater for the whole family.
Another destination for steak and everything in between. Welcome The Meat and Wine Co, South Yarra.
